Often, home sales are seen only from the perspective of the buyer or seller, and how they’ll benefit. As the agent moving the property between parties, I see choices made that impact buyer, seller, and the community.
The Bridgeland home with attached laneway is something special for all parties involved. Working with his team, the seller incorporated contemporary elements into the preservation of an historical 1930s build. This was the expression of a combined skillset that gave something beautiful and unique to the community. The development of the laneway home allowed for the project to become economically viable where the alternative was demolition followed by new construction. The buyer purchased a beautiful place within a central neighbourhood, and received the added financial security of an income property. The community benefits from having a unique property that heightens the street aesthetically, and provides a new model for gentrification.
Choices were made based upon design ideas, but also foresight on what the property would mean to the next homeowner and to the neighbourhood. Congratulations to the seller and the buyer.
